Starting Wednesday**, October 25rd at 7 am EST**, Gitcoin in partnership with Upala will launch a so-called Price of Forgery discovery campaign. You will be able to sell your Discord bot(s) for hard cash.
NOTE: This really is just for bot farmers. Both your Discord account (more precisely just a hash of your Discord account - we cannot see your real Discord handle anywhere by design) and associated ethereum address (yes, we can see your address) will be banned on Gitcoin Passport forever.
Every day we gonna announce a price per bot and top up total campaign pool to a certain limit.
Both the price and the limit will increase over time (see more details below).
The campaign budget is $500. And it will end only when all of the $500 are gone.
The cheaper your bots are to create the more farmers you will outpace.
It’s like an auction. Here’s the overall approach to changing price per bot and pool limit over time.
If the liquidation does happen (especially if certain number of bots were liquidated simultaneously), we assume that we’ve found our Price of forgery for Discord. After that the auction will go on with lower price per bot and probably higher pool sizes to verify and refine the results.
What exactly constitutes a day and what timezone we gonna use may differ in time. This competition is for you our dear bot-farmers. We work hard to make it fair. But we don’t know what “fair” is yet. Please let us know through Discord how we may improve. This auction is going to take place until $500 is out.
